This week-long trip to Andalo was really well-organized. Every other day was “free” so we could organize our day however we we wanted. We were fortunate to team up with Francesca (a colleague from Umbra) and her husband, Marco.
Below is a map of the Paganella area above Andalo. We took the lift where we hiked with Francesca and Marko. I marked the ski lift parts of the trek in blue. The main hike we did is the pink line. We hiked about 12km. Then we took a the second lift to the top of Paganella where we hiked a trauk called the Sentiero delle Aquile (the Eagles’ trail).
The Eagles' Trail
The Eagles’ Trail is a winding, narrow trail at the top of the mountain. It’s a bit tricky and, if you’re afraid of heights, it’s definitely not for you. In the pictures, you can see the steel cable attached to the side of the mountain. This made the hike relatively easy.
As you look to the right, there is the cool arch you see in the next picture.
We had a wonderful day hiking on the mountain and felt a sense of accomplishment when we finished the Eagles’ trail!
