Thanksgiving is Still a Special Celebration!
The Tandem Spirits love Thanksgiving, it is probably our favorite holiday. You might think that now that we are in Italy, we would have to give up this lovely tradition, or do it ourselves Fortunately, we have a better option. Our friend Jennifer has an excellent restaurant and wine bar in Bevagna, a cute medieval town, just 10 km from Foligno. This year, for the fourth year in a row, she has hosted an authentic Thanksgiving dinner at Le Barbatelle Wine Bar: Enoteca e Osteria.
We reserved our spots as soon as the event was announced. It was a good thing we did, the place was packed with Americans, Brits, Italians, Argentinians, Kuwaitis, and three very well behaved dogs.
Seating was assigned, and we had a lovely evening enjoying the food and meeting new people. Everything was delicious, and we all agreed it was the best Turkey we’d ever had. Jennifer had outdone herself!
By the time we finished eating, it was 11:30 pm. Fortunately we had booked a room in town for the night and just had to walk a short distance before tumbling into bed.
